Getting Involved
It is a common mistake to look at volunteering as just something nice that people can do. Without a doubt, there is a certain level of personal satisfaction when participating as a volunteer, but what impact does volunteering truly have on the communities around us?

Volunteers have the ability to impact the heath and well-being of communities around the world. There are an immense number of ways that the acts of volunteers impact our communities and the differences they are able to make every day. These individuals and groups deliver critical services to those in need, such as volunteer firefighters, participating in search and rescue, to delivering meals to seniors, the homeless, and even working with domestic violence and sexual assault centers. With the help of volunteers, we are able to keep our neighborhoods, parks, streets, water, and much more safe for the community. Volunteers also tutor, mentor, coach, teach, and support individuals of the community in order to help with anything from math homework to personal crises.
